Willingness and Compassion
Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. Mark 1:40-42
Two things jump out when I read this passage – Jesus was willing and He had compassion.
His willingness and His compassion, together, moved Him to heal this man of his leprosy.
When we are dealing with people around us, are we genuinely willing to make a difference in their lives?
Or are our motives that pure?
Do we really feel compassion for people, or does our desire to assist come more from a place of judgement.
We need to begin to examine our own hearts.
What are our motives?
Where is our compassion for people?
When our motives are pure and our hearts are full of compassion, we shall begin to see signs and wonders.
