Steadfast

Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem. Luke 9:51-52

There was a plan and a purpose for Jesus’ life; and He understood that plan and purpose.
When it was time to face that difficult thing, He “steadfastly set His face” and began the journey to Jerusalem.
We know that Jesus was heading to His own death.
We also know that Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem was an eventful and productive one; as He met the people, had compassion on them and healed them on the way.
What difficulty journey are you on today?
There are several things you need to know:
 1) God has a plan for your life – a plan and a purpose.
2) The journey, although heading somewhere difficult, still has the opportunity to be eventful and productive on the way.
Are you able, in Jesus’ strength to steadfastly set your face and allow the journey to begin?
Resisting just prolongs the anxiety and delays the inevitable.
Steadfastly setting your face is a form of submission and obedience to the plan the Lord has for you. The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
Take that first step today – be steadfast in your commitment.
