October 2
                        2018

            Recompense of God
Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
“Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you.”
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.
The parched ground shall become a pool,
And the thirsty land springs of water;
In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Isaiah 35:3-7
Waters in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
A time of refreshing for the people of God.
Be strong, be courageous, stand firm, do not fear!
For the recompense of the Lord is coming for us.
And when it comes, eyes and ears shall be open, the lame will leap, the dumb sing and a time of refreshing will burst forth.
We just need to hold on a little bit longer.
We just need to lift up those hands that hang down in discouragement and straighten up those knees that bend under the weight of our day to day.
And the fear that sits in our heart, we just need to push it aside and do it afraid.
Just a little longer and the Lord will come with a vengeance.
I don’t know about you, but this passage speaks to me of the hope in persevering and the refreshing and shift in seasons that will come in time.
 Let’s stand on that hope today!
