Rainy Birthdays!
For You are my hope, O Lord GOD;
You are my trust from my youth.
By You I have been upheld from birth;
You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.
My praise shall be continually of You.
I have become as a wonder to many,
But You are my strong refuge.
Let my mouth be filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all the day.
Psalm 71: 5-8
Happy Birthday greetings!
It is a rainy day here in Porters Lake.
The flowers are blooming
The grass is a lovely velvet green!
And the bunnies in the backyard have a new baby tagging along.
And time moves on.
We are busy with some spring cleaning here
Nico finds this process extremely interesting and he is very helpful to climb over all the piles and touch/lay on everything.
It is just about time to put the garden together.
The grass is ready for mowing and the crocuses and tulips have come and gone.
And time moves on.
I’m in between jobs with new work lined up for June.
We have a shiny new car (with a sunroof).
We are happy and healthy.
God is faithful in all things.
We are blessed beyond blessed as I celebrate my birthday today.
And time moves on.
As I went to my devotions this morning I asked the Lord for a Word from His Word for this, my special day.
As as always, He was faithful and gave me this passage from Psalm 71 which I can honestly say I never really noticed before.
For You are my hope, O Lord GOD;
You are my trust from my youth.
By You I have been upheld from birth;
You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.
My praise shall be continually of You.
I have become as a wonder to many,
But You are my strong refuge.
Let my mouth be filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all the day.
Psalm 71: 5-8
Such truth!
In the last 42 years
My hope has been in the Lord and the Lord alone.
He had guided and directed my steps
And has gone ahead to prepare a path for me.
He has been my refuge and my strong tower at all times
A place to find grace and rest.
And my desire is that my mouth will be filled with His praise at all times
Day and night
Night and day
Mountain top and valley low
In strength and in weakness.
And time has moved on!
My prayer for this new year
For this new season
Is as Moses cried out to the Lord:
“Please, show me Your glory”
Exodus 33:18
Today might not be your birthday
But it is the first day of the rest of your life
A new season
A new move of God
A new and exciting journey ahead.
What will you do with it?
Start by digging out the Word of God and asking the Lord for a Word for you today
A Word of His faithfulness
A Word of His Promises
A Word of His love for you.
And then go forth and seek His face!
