David was going to meet Goliath on the battlefield. 
Saul dressed him in Saul’s own armour.
What a privilege we think –
Saul offering his armour to the young David. 
However, the armour didn’t fit. 
Not only did it not fit, David said “I have not tested them”. 
David then chooses for himself 5 smooth stones, a shepherd’s bag and pouch and a sling. 
David could not go to battle with Saul’s anointing, Saul’s experience or Saul’s tools. 
He needed to go to battle with the anointing, experience and tools that the Lord had given him.
David had tested the Lord in the past. 
He knew the faithfulness of the Lord toward him. 
He knew that the hand of the Lord had been on him in the past to defeat the bear and the lion.  Therefore David could be confident that the hand of the Lord would continue to be on him and would use what he had already placed within David to bring about the victory. 
Often we wish to be other people. 
We wish for their armour. 
We covet their anointing. 
We long for their experiences in the Lord. 
But Saul’s armour does not fit and we have not tested it. 
God has given us our own anointing’s, our own experiences.
When we walk confidently in what the Lord has placed in us we will be victorious!

I often remind people around me to be mindful – to take the time to bring something to remembrance. 
Not to be forgetful and absent minded when thinking about those things that are important.  Mindfulness keeps one in the moment but also connects that moment to the past and the future.
What a simple but comforting thought that the Lord is mindful of us. 
He takes the time to bring us to His remembrance. 
He is in the moment with us;
He helps to create that moment. 
He continually connects each moment to our past and our future. 
He is the constant tread that holds it all together. 
When you feel alone, insignificant or invisible, take comfort in the fact that the Lord has been mindful of us.
