Restoration

Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the LORD your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He will cause the rain to come down for you—
The former rain,
And the latter rain in the first month.
The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,
And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
Joel 2: 23-25

The Lord has been faithful.
The Lord is faithful.
The Lord will be faithful.
In the past He has provided the former and the latter rain.
He will do so again in the future.
This is a season of restoration.
The years that the locusts have eaten in your life; in your finances, in your health, in your family, in your job, in your relationships, in your homes…….
those years will be restored.
Be encouraged.
Today is a day to stand up strong and tall and remember the faithfulness of the Lord.
Because he is “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8),
we can expect that the faithfulness He has displayed in the past will be the same faithfulness He will display today and in our future.
Are you ready for a season of restoration?
Today is a day to be encouraged in our Lord!

What do you want Me to do for you?

Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him.
And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”
Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”
So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”
So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him. Matthew 20:29-3

What do you want Jesus to do for you today?
Do you even know?
Jesus asked the question of the blind men.
It was probably fairly evident that they were blind, that they needed their sight.
But Jesus asked the question anyway,
“What do you want Me to do for you?”
Sometimes, when we look around us, we assume what people need or want from us or from Jesus.  But we don’t know what is going on inside their life, the real life, the one that we don’t often see. Jesus didn’t assume that the blindness the men were experiencing was their greatest concern or their greatest need.
He asked.
So we shouldn’t assume that our greatest need is the thing most visible to those around us.  Sometimes, ever our own needs seem to be buried within us.
Take some time, sit in the Presence of the Lord, search your heart and be ready when you encounter Jesus and He asks you,
“What do you want Me to do for you?”

Suddenly

And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. Matthew 9:20

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts 2:2
“And suddenly” appears frequently in the Word of God.
It is an exciting phrase full of hope and expectation.
What is interesting about the “and suddenly” is that prior to it we often find people waiting.
The woman with the flow of blood had suffered from her affliction 12 years and sought many treatments to heal her condition.
The disciples were waiting in the Upper Room when the Holy Spirit came upon them; in the midst of their need, in the midst of their waiting, the suddenly occurred.
We may be waiting and the wait may seem like a long time.
The suddenly may seem to come upon us quickly and without expectation.
But the suddenly is the manifestation of the perfect timing of the Lord.
It isn’t “suddenly” for Him, but all in part and parcel of the plan He had in place.
Are you waiting on something today? Has the wait been long?
Your “suddenly” may be just around the corner.
The Lord has a perfect plan for it and in “due time” it will appear.
Be hopeful in that expectation.
