Remembering

Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.
Isaiah 49:15-16

How do you remember important things?
Sticky notes?  To do lists?
Posting reminders in prominent places?
Have you ever written something really important on your own hand, so that it is there every time you look down, so you are sure not to forget?
Do you realize just how important you are to the Lord?
The Word tells us that our names on inscribed on the very palms of His hands.
We are so very important to Him; more important than a reminder on sticky notes, to do lists or posts in prominent places.
We are that important that we get a reminder on His very hand.
Be encouraged today.
You are not forgotten or misplaced.
The Lord has your name in a very prominent place, on His very hands, and He remembers you day and night.
He has a plan for your life.
Delay does not mean denial.
Hang in there!

Early in the Morning

O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
Psalm 63:1-5
Everyone isn’t a morning person.
I’ve not always been a morning person.
But in the last number of months as I have committed to getting up early and spending time in the Word and sharing what the Lord gives me,
I’ve become much more of a morning person.
There is something very sweet and peaceful about sitting with the Lord early in the day, before the rush and the hustle and bustle and the responsibilities and the “to do” lists; while it is still dark, and quiet.
The Psalmist says “O God, You are my God; early will I see You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”
Is that where you find yourself today?
In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water?
The Lord is the One to reach out to.
Take the time, early in the day, whether you are a morning person or not, and begin to seek Him earnestly and diligently.
He will be found.
And your thirst will be satisfied.
And you will gain a new appreciation of that sweet and peaceful time at the beginning of the day.

Faithful in the Little Things

After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.  “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Matthew 25: 19-23

This master gave his servants varying amounts of talents to manage.
When they managed them well, no matter how many they had been given to start with, the master said:
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over may things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”
It is not about what you start with, but how faithful you are with what the Lord has given into your hands.
Don’t be concerned if the Lord is asking you to be faithful in some small things.
Faithfulness in the small things is just as important as faithfulness in the larger things.
Faithfulness in the small things increases our faith and our commitment and helps us to be faithful in the larger things when they come.
Zechariah 4:10 asks, “For who has despised the day of small things?”
Be content in your current realm of influence and with the small things the Lord has left in your hands, knowing that in time, if you are faithful, you will hear the words:
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over may things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”
