It’s a Personal Thing

So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own word. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” John 4:4-42

When the woman at the well encountered Jesus, she returned to the village and told everyone about Him.
They, in turn, came to hear Jesus, inviting Him to stay two more days so they could hear Him.
At the end of their encounter they said,
“Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
They encountered Jesus for themselves.
They could have just taken the word of the woman at the well.
They could have believed what she said and based their belief on her experience, but they chose to hear Jesus for themselves.
In doing so, they entered into a personal relationship with Jesus.
It is good to share our experiences with Jesus with others, as that may be the point of encounter.
But it is necessary that each person experience Jesus for themselves, so that they can go away claiming Him as Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Our experience of Jesus is a very unique and personal thing.
Have you been experiencing Jesus through someone else’s encounter?
Take the time today, to deeper that experience for yourself.
It’s a personal thing!

What Moves You?

When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. Matthew 14:13-14

What moves you?
Jesus was often moved with compassion for the people; when they were sick, when they were hungry, when He saw them as a group of sheep without a Shepherd.
As he was moved with compassion He healed, fed and led the people.
It is important to understand our passion.
What makes you angry?
Sad?
Happy?
Answer those questions and you will find your passion; the thing that moves you.
When we are moved, we will begin to impact those around us in those areas.
But it all starts with a heart of compassion.
When we have compassion for a particular group of people or for a particular issue, our heart will begin to be moved.
When our heart is moved, our actions will follow.
Not only will our actions follow but they will follow in a way that demonstrates pure intentions.  Spend some time today and think about it – what moves you?
What brings up that compassion within you?
Now, move with that!

Called Out Ones

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light I Peter 2:9

We are called to stand out.
Not because we are better or more than but simply because we have been chosen.
We have been chosen by the One who calls light forth from that which is dark.
We are been moved out of a dark place into a place of light.
And because we have been called out, we are now called to stand out; to look different in the midst of all that is the same.
Different to call to attention to the change in our lives that only comes about through the love of Jesus.
Stand out today – in love!
