Who He is to Me

Come and hear, all you who fear God,
And I will declare what He has done for my soul.
I cried to Him with my mouth,
And He was extolled with my tongue.
If I regard iniquity in my heart,
The Lord will not hear.
But certainly God has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Blessed be God,
Who has not turned away my prayer,
Nor His mercy from me!
Psalm 66:16-20

I can share all kinds of head knowledge about God with those around me, but that head knowledge won’t move them and won’t change their hearts.
What changes hearts and impacts lives is when I share my experiences with the Lord with those around me.
Who is the Lord to you?
How has He impacted your life?
What is He doing in you right now?
That makes it real.
And it is yours.
No one can argue with or take away what is yours.
The Psalmist says,
“I will declare what He has done for my soul.”
What has the Lord done for you?
Who is He to you?
You story is one to be shared.
Through it others will be encouraged and uplifted and the life changing power of the Lord will go forth!

Salt and Light

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 13-16

Salt gives flavour.
Light gives hope.
We are called to be both in the world, flavour and hope.
What flavour are we adding to the world around us?
What light are we throwing that offers hope to those whose pathways it strikes?
We are not called to be self- absorbed, self -serving or self- focused, rather we are called to consider the impact we are having on the lives around us.
Christmas is a wonderful season to add flavour and hope.
Although many enjoy the season, there are also many who suffer in the season due to loss or loneliness.
And even those that enjoy the season inevitably tire of the busyness and the doing.
How can you be salt and light in the midst of this Christmas season?
To those you encounter regularly?
A smile, a thank you, a word of encouragement, a pleasant manner, can all go a long way to adding flavour and hope.
Be salt and light today- flavour and hope!

Promise of the Lord

Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Isaiah 46:4

The Lord promised the house of Jacob, the remnant of Israel that he would carry them, bear them and deliver them, even into their old age.
The Lord wants you to know that today as well.
It doesn’t matter what season you are in, the Lord is carrying you.
It doesn’t matter the situation you find yourself in the Lord is carrying you.
It doesn’t matter if you feel you are being carried or not, the Lord is carrying you.
It is not about us.
It is about the promise of the Lord.
Hold on tight to that today!
