The Lifter of My Head

But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
I cried to the LORD with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

Do you sometimes feel, head bowed low, that you are not heard?
That your suffering goes unnoticed and you are unable to rise up within yourself?
The Psalmist reminds us that the Lord is “my glory and the One who lifts up my head”.
Not only that, but the Psalmist also reminds us that “He heard me from His Holy Hill”.
Sometimes we worry about things that are not truth.
We are not alone, our suffering does not go unnoticed,
He hears our cry and He will lift up our heads.
The Lord has done it before and He will do it again!
“My glory and the One who lifts up my head.”

Contentment

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:1-13

It is not about what I have but about who I am.
It’s not about who I am, but who I am in Christ.
Therefore, I learn to be content regardless of the circumstances, because of who I am, not what I have.
Basic?
Yes.
Easy?
Not necessarily.
Priceless when you get to this point in your life?
Absolutely!
Seek contentment.

It Shall Not Return to Me Void

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:8-11
The Word of the Lord will never return to Him void.
It is sent forth with a purpose and its purpose will be fulfilled in the earth.
Just as the rain and snow go out and water the earth, the Word of the Lord goes forth and accomplishes that which it set out to accomplish.
What word has the Lord sent out on your behalf?
What has He shown you in the dark nights, in the quiet hours, in that time you have spent together, just the two of you?
That word is still going forth.
It is working its purpose in you and in the earth.
Don’t be discouraged.
God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, nor His ways our ways.
His timing is perfect.
He sees the whole picture, beginning to end, while we only see the piece we’re moving through.
2019 will be a year of accomplished words.
Words that have gone out which have come to fruition in our lives.
Wait for it!
