In the Moment

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
We become fearful when we move out of the moment.
When we dwell on what is behind us we become anxious and anxiety leads to fear.
When we look too far ahead and get stuck there we fear what we can’t yet see.
But when we sit in the moment, really sit in the moment, and live the moment to its fullest potential, we have no time to dwell in the past or get stuck in the unknown of the future.
When we sit in the moment we learn to really enjoy our life.
Many of us speed through our days like there is a fire chasing us.
And then we live nostalgically in the past that we missed.
Why not live in the moment, remember it fondly, but then move onto to the next moment, fully appreciating it all as we go?
Today, start today, to really live in the day that it you are in now.
Leave yesterday behind and tomorrow ahead.
They are what they are.
Today is the where you can make a difference.

Today’s Prayer

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

My prayer for you today:
That through the riches of the glory of Christ you would be strengthened.
That you would understand how much you are loved.
That you would be open to allow God to fill you up!
That you would know without a doubt that God is able to do abundantly above all that we think and can imagine.
That you would remember that it is His power working in us!
Go forth and take on the world, loving them with the love of Christ!

Rejoice

This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 20:5

Rejoice=giyl =to leap for joy, to rejoice, to spin round, to be glad or joyful.
Rejoicing is an active word.  It doesn’t mean to smile and say “I’m so happy”.
It means to outwardly show your joy by leaping and spinning.
Rejoicing doesn’t happen inwardly where no one can see it, it happens outwardly for all to see.
We often quote this verse, but do so in a fairly noncommittal and monotone voice.
This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
When in reality, it calls for some excitement.
This is a new day.
We are alive!
The sun is shining and the day is full of possibility.
That calls for some shouting and leaping, don’t you think?
Don’t get caught up in the same ole, same ole.
Get excited about the day ahead of you and see how it changes your perspective on things!
