Call Upon Him

For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him? Deuteronomy 4:7

Moses was speaking to the Israelites, reminding them of their history and the goodness of God in their lives, as they began to prepare to enter the Promised Land.
He reminded them of the nearness of God and their ability to call upon Him, for any reason.
What a privilege! Sometimes we need to be reminded of the same thing.
We forget about the nearness of God and our ability to come before Him.

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16

What is your need today?
Not only can we call upon Him for our needs, we can actually walk with Him in relationship.
How much better is that?
Not just a vending machine in the sky that gives us what we ask for, but One who wants us to walk with Him, day by day, getting to know Him and growing in His strength in our lives.
Will you call upon Him today?

At the Command of the Lord

Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey. At the command of the LORD they remained encamped, and at the command of the LORD they journeyed; they kept the charge of the LORD, at the command of the LORD by the hand of Moses. Numbers 9:22-23

The Lord led the children of Israel.
He didn’t take them into the wilderness and desert them.
He provided the cloud for guidance.
When the cloud stayed above the tabernacle, they stayed.
When the cloud was taken up, they moved.
At the command of the Lord……..
We too are to move at the command of the Lord in our lives.
We too have direction from the Lord.
The Word of God is a road map and the Holy Spirit our guide.
We wouldn’t travel somewhere unfamiliar without first mapping it out or getting directions.
Why then, do we try to live our life (a journey that is new to us every day) without guidance?
We have not been this way before.
Perhaps it is time to be still for a time and get directions.
At the command of the Lord……..
