Don’t be Terrified

“Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. ‘The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, ‘and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’ Deuteronomy 1: 29-31

Moses was speaking to the children of Israel as they were ready to cross over into the Promised Land.
He reminds them of the reasons that they need not be afraid.
1) He reminds them of what God has done for them in the past to protect them
2) He reminds them that the Lord carries them as a man carries his son.
The goodness of God in your past will continue into your future because our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
What has God brought you through all ready?
Rest assured He is able and willing to do it again in your life.
What a picture of God, as a man carrying His son; such a picture of protection but also gentleness and care.
God doesn’t just carry you haphazardly – He cares you with intention and gentleness.
He has brought you to where you are today and He will continue to cradle you in His arms for the remainder of the journey.
Are you facing something today?
Be reminded of the faithfulness and loving arms of our Heavenly Father that have brought you this far.
You will go forth in victory!

A Land for Which the Lord your God Cares…..

“For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden;  “but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, “a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. Deuteronomy 11:10-12

The Lord cares for everything about us, even for the land ahead of us that He is bringing us in to possess.
The Lord has a plan for your life and for my life.
His plan is always better than what we already have and even better than what we can imagine.  Moses told the Israelites that the land of Egypt, for which they longed, was a mere vegetable garden, sowed and watered by hand and foot, compared to the land of hills and valleys ahead; hills and valley which drink directly from the rain of heaven, provided by the Lord.
What Promised Land has the Lord promised to bring you into?
Are you still longing for the “way things used to be”?
God has an even bigger and better plan ahead.
Walk in faith and obedience through the wilderness you find yourself in now; for the Promised Land that the Lord cares for and His eyes are always on, is on the other side.
