But Because the Lord Loves You

For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. “The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Deuteronomy 7:6-8

We have talked a lot in the last few days about the Lord going before us, being concerned about those things that concern us, preparing the way and fighting our battles.
The question then often comes up, “why?”
Why does the Lord care?
Why is the Lord concerned about those things that concern us?
Why does He go ahead and fight our battles?
As Moses reminds the Israelites: “but because the Lord loves you.”
You are loved today.
You are loved by Almighty God.
And because He loves you, He sent His only Son to the cross to reconcile us to Himself that we might walk in that relationship with Him.
Have you accepted the gift of Jesus in your life yet?
If not, today is the day!
YOU ARE LOVED!

Don’t be Terrified

“Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. ‘The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, ‘and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’ Deuteronomy 1: 29-31

Moses was speaking to the children of Israel as they were ready to cross over into the Promised Land.
He reminds them of the reasons that they need not be afraid.
1) He reminds them of what God has done for them in the past to protect them
2) He reminds them that the Lord carries them as a man carries his son.
The goodness of God in your past will continue into your future because our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.
What has God brought you through all ready?
Rest assured He is able and willing to do it again in your life.
What a picture of God, as a man carrying His son; such a picture of protection but also gentleness and care.
God doesn’t just carry you haphazardly – He cares you with intention and gentleness.
He has brought you to where you are today and He will continue to cradle you in His arms for the remainder of the journey.
Are you facing something today?
Be reminded of the faithfulness and loving arms of our Heavenly Father that have brought you this far.
You will go forth in victory!
