Compassion

When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. Matthew 14: 13-14

What did Jesus hear?
He heard that John the Baptist had been beheaded.
In His grief He needed some time and space to Himself.
But the people followed on foot.
When Jesus saw the people, how many they were, and their needs, He put their needs ahead of His own and ministered to them.
He did this out of the compassion of His heart.
Compassion turns our focus from our own need to the needs around us.
Compassion also brings healing.
How can we expect to move mountains and bring healing to the lives of others if we don’t first have compassion for them?
Jesus moved in compassion.
His compassion allowed Him to put aside His own need for privacy and space to attend to the people.
And He healed the sick as He was moved with compassion for them.
Do we truly have compassion for those around us?
Does our compassion for them move us to set aside our own needs to attend to theirs?
Our compassion, our true and genuine compassion, will allow us to speak healing into the lives around us.

Are we in Agreement?

Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20
In order to move mountains, we need to be in agreement.
Do you want to move mountains?
Of course you do.
That means we need to find a place of agreement with others who also want to move mountains.  Disunity and disagreement is counterproductive to utilizing the power the Lord has given us in the earth.
When we are in unity and agreement and gather in the name of Jesus, He promises to be the midst.  And when He is in the midst, anything can and will happen.
