Choosing Joy

This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

This morning I choose joy.
Joy is a choice.
In the world we live in, with the circumstances we find ourselves in, and with the people we find ourselves surrounded by……..we must choose, each and every day, to walk in joy.
As we rise in the morning and face the day ahead, we must declare
“This is the day the Lord has made; (I) will rejoice and be glad in it.”
And our joy will be contagious and touch the lives of those around us, in the midst of their world, circumstances and people.
In choosing joy and in choosing to touch others, we will find purpose and meaning which will propel us forward into the destiny that God has for us.
That destiny is not a distant “thing” but comes from the culmination of the daily walk we find ourselves in.
Rejoice, even this morning!

Heart Issues

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34

What is your heart saying today?
If you are not sure, just listen carefully to what is coming out of your mouth.
When we have heart issues our speech changes.
Bitterness, anger, jealousy, discouragement, fatigue; they all sound familiar when we begin to speak.  Those around us know our heart when they encounter our words.
Words have power.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Proverbs 18:21
Words are also a great indicator of the condition of our heart.
Listen carefully to your words today.
Do they inspire joy, peace and love?
Or do they speak of negativity, bitterness and discouragement.
One cannot hide the issues of the heart from others or from oneself.
They are a mighty river that flows in and through us and up out of our mouth.
Words can bring life and refreshing or a raging torrent of destruction.
Choose carefully.
