A Lion in a Pit

Benaiah was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who had done many deeds. He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day. 2 Samuel 23:20

Beniah was of the mighty men of King David.
Benaiah was a man who met his challenges head on.
As a matter of fact, we are told he even went down into a pit to kill a lion.
He didn’t wait until the lion came to him, he saw opportunity to defeat the enemy and he went in and went in strong.
The enemy will come at us, but the enemy will also lurk in pits and let us know that he is there, causing fear and uncertainty in our lives.
We, like Benaiah, need to learn to go down into that pit, meet the enemy head on and take him out.  We can’t afford to allow the enemy to intimidate us and cause fear.
We have a destiny and purpose and a work to do for the Lord and fear and uncertainty causes us to be unproductive and hesitant.
Be prepared today to go down into to that pit, meet that lion head on, and take him out!

Power, Love and a Sound Mind

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

What more could we ask for: power, love and a sound mind.
The Lord has greatly bestowed these things upon us and we must learn to walk them out in our daily lives.
Fear comes to rob, steal and destroy.
It is not from God but from the enemy.
When faced with fear, we need to recognize it for what it is- an emotion that we can overcome by focusing on the truth of our situation.
Facts speaks about our circumstances, truth speaks about what God has said.
Are you feeling fearful today?
Take some time to get into the Word of God and see what He says about your situation?
Start with Romans 8:37
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
Find verses that speak truth (above facts) into your current situation.
And begin to declare them.
Walk in your power to use the Words that God has given you.
Walk in love for yourself and for those around you and guard your thought life – what goes in comes out.
Walk in power, love and a sound mind and overcome fear.
It is not an abstract concept but something that we must learn to do as we walk out each day of our life.
