One More Time Around the Mountain

Then we turned and journeyed into the wilderness of the Way of the Red Sea, as the LORD spoke to me, and we skirted Mount Seir for many days.  “And the LORD spoke to me, saying: ‘You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward.” Deuteronomy 2:2

“For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.” ’ Deuteronomy 2:7

We’ve all been around the mountain a time or do.
Sometimes it takes a few trips round to learn the lesson;
before God says “you have skirted this mountain long enough”!
Interestingly, in the second verse, although God acknowledges that they have been trudging through the wilderness, He also points out two things:
1) The LORD your God has been with you and
2) you have lacked nothing.
So what do I want you to take away from this morning’s devotions?
1) even when you are in the wilderness, you are not alone and God will provide all that you need
2) the Lord is saying today, “you have skirted this mountain long enough”

Today is a new day; a day of new beginnings and new possibilities.
Come out from around the mountain, turn northward and began to follow the path to the Promised Land that the Lord has laid out for you.
That lesson is learned and it is now time to apply it.
