  • Morning devotion: “Sitting down and brooding over our sorrow deepens the darkness surrounding us, allowing it to creep into our heart. And soon our strength has changed into weakness.  But if we will turn from the gloom and remain faithful to the calling of God, the light will shine again and we will grow stronger.” J.R.Miller Streams in the Desert
  • “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” Romans 8:37

March 12th
A Gift in Wind, in Water, in White

  • 2 flocks of geese – high in the air, riding the wind – changing direction, changing formation and making their way into v shapes
  • The whir of the washer (as the water sloshes) and hum of the dryer – tells me it is Wed and I am blessed
  • Babies dressed in white with little anchors, matching – tiny yet strong, bellies rising with each breath, furrowed brows doing some serious thinking and smiling lips content in their dreams
March 13th
3 Gifts Round

  • stack of round notepaper at the dollar store – pink stripes and polka dots
  • Tetley tea bags – first thing in the morning
  • Grand-kids eyes – round and lit up as they ran toward me in McDonald’s – full of life and joy
Tea with a friend.  Nice to sit and chat and just be together.

It is March Break – we took the grandchildren out to McDonald’s – not so much for the food but for the play area.  If I could just bottle that energy in little bottles and use it or sell it πŸ™‚  How my heart skips a beat when I first see them round the corner and their eyes light up and they begin to run and call out my name, throwing jackets and mitts and hats aside.  What a blessing.  We ate, played with McDonald’s bobble head toys, waved at them in the play room – enjoying their “noise” and willingness to play with total strangers.  Sweet conversations as they met up with other little ones they know from school and share stories of their March Break adventures.  New colouring books and crayons were also a hit.  As I strapped them into the car and said goodbye amid hugs and kisses, Lincoln said “We’ll see you at McDonald’s again”.  I’m wondering if he thinks that is where I live πŸ™‚  too sweet.
One day at a time.  One moment at a time.  Moments that build those relationships – one at time.  If we could just remember, the to do lists can wait – laundry will still be there, dishes will still be there, hairballs won’t really take over the house it just looks that way – but those moments for being with other people, those moments meant to connect soul to soul and spirit to spirit, they don’t wait.  Time moves on and they are lost. It is important to live in the moment – but not the housework moment – or the work moment or the “to do” list moment – the relationship moment is truth.

March 14th
3 Gifts found in silence

  • The first moments of the day – barely awake, hubby and kitty quiet beside me – light barely coming in the window -silence – new
  • Ladies praying – hands touching, together in the physical, emotional and spiritual realms, reaching out towards each other, reaching up towards heaven – the silence in my spirit in the midst of the prayers – the silence in the moments after prayer – in the heaviness of His presence
  • The last moments of the day – busy, hectic, social, weary, drifting, aware of the silence in the dark and the Presence of the Lord

March 15th
