In the Morning

Give ear to my words, O LORD,
Consider my meditation.
Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.
Psalm 5:1-3

How do we start our day?
What are those most important things we do as we set our feet on the floor?
Those things that set the tone for the rest of the things that follow?
The Psalmist lifted His voice to the Lord.
He asked the Lord to give heed to his voice as he directed it to the Lord.
“And I will look up” – what an interesting statement.
I don’t know that the Psalmist was referring to looking upward in reference to the Lord’s location, or whether the fact that as he directed his voice unto God that his head was lifted and he looked up as opposed to looking down.
Are you starting you day right now?
How about starting with your head lifted up, directing your voice to the Lord, asking for guidance and direction and strength for the day ahead.
And in doing so, you will find your head lifted up!
