I Know You By Name

“For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.”
So the LORD said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”
And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.”
Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”
And the LORD said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock.
“So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.
“Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”
Exodus 33:16-23
Good Morning from sunny Porter’s Lake!
It is spring.
I believe it is spring!
Although we had a winter wonderland yesterday

Today is spring!

My crocuses tell me it is spring
Despite what they see around them
They continue to peek up through the snow this morning!
Last week they bloomed through frost which left a little ring of sparkles around their edges
Like jewels.
Since I last blogged we have been blessed in many ways:
I’ve started my work contract in earnest
And have finally found myself in a “work” groove.
We made a trip to sunny Bahamas
Where we spent time together

Relaxed in the sun
Met some new friends
And attended Easter Sunday service at Agape House in Freeport
Such a blessing to be away.
Now we are home and waiting on Spring to arrive in FULL!
The last few days God has been speaking through various and unrelated books, emails and Pastors
And the Word has been the same
God know me by name!
In today’s passage, God says to Moses:
“for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”
I’ve read this passage many times before and never registered this statement until it was pointed out this week.
I know you by name!
What a wonderful statement to hear.
I am known!
Not only am I known
But God knows me individually and uniquely by the name I am called.
There is nothing quite like hearing the Voice of the Lord
The only think better is hearing the Voice of the Lord speak your name
Such tenderness
Such joy
Such love
Such power!
Is the Lord calling your name today?
Have you set time aside
Quiet time
Time in which you listen for His Voice?
Time in which you set aside the business and the clutter
And just listen?
Today,
Today He wants to speak into your heart, your life, your spirit
He wants to call you into His Presence.
He wants to show you His glory.
But first you must slow down
Stop
And rest awhile.
And listen for His voice!
Today
Not later
Not tomorrow
Not when I have time
But today!
No matter where you are
No matter what you are going through
No matter what you feel
Today
The Lord knows your name!
And He is calling to you
right now
softly
can you hear Him?
