Give me this Mountain!
Caleb and Joshua spoke favourably of the Israelites ability to take the Promised Land in the strength of the Lord, even when the other spies sowed fear into the hearts of the people.
Because of that fear and their unwillingness to step out in faith a whole generation died in the wilderness over 40 years, leaving just Caleb and Joshua, of that group, who would actually enter the Promised Land.
Finding himself in the Promised Land, Caleb points out that 45 years later he is as strong as he was before and asks Joshua to give him the mountain of which the Lord spoke, the mountain inhabited by giants.
These verses really speak of the dreams that God places in our hearts and the sustainability and strength of them overtime, especially when we are faithful to the Lord.
Caleb dreamed of taking the Promised Land but circumstances delayed the dream.
God had sustained Caleb’s strength, had protected that dream in his heart, and now Caleb’s desire was to resurrect the dream.
“Now, therefore, give me this mountain!”
What dream has the Lord placed deep within your heart; the one that has been delayed?
Now is the season to resurrect that dream!
Speak to the Lord and ask for the mountain that He has spoken of in your life.
He has sustained you and maintained your strength for such a time as this!
