Come now….

“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the LORD,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.”
Isaiah 1:18

Happy Thursday!
How is your week going so far?
It’s been a whirlwind here…
So now, for some quiet time……
This morning as I was spending time with the Lord
and asking Him for a Word for the blog
this verse came to mind:
“Come now, and let us reason together”, says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow”
“How appropriate”, I thought as I looked out at the snow in the yard
Just the other day as I was driving
I thought how dirty
everything looked
with no snow cover.
And now, viola
a fresh, and lovely cover of clean, white snow.
And what a lovely message,
Though your sins are like scarlet
They shall be white as snow.
What a contrast!
Just like this morning looking out the window
From bare and dirty
To lovely and soft and white.
That is where I thought I was going with this today,
But then as I looked up the verse,
I read again,
“Come now, and let us reason together”
I was touched by that beginning,
“Come now….”
I read it out loud
As those words fell on my ear
They felt gentle and caring
Similar to the snow as it fell
last night.
Slowly, light
but carrying weight
at the same time
as the effect of it accumulated.
So much more than just 2 words
“Come now……Child”
“Come now…..sit beside me”
“Come now…. rest”
“Come now….I have time for you”
“Come now….there is a spot for you, right here in my arms”
“Come now…..we have been seperated, but I want to make it right between us”
“Come now…..share your heart with me, I want to hear everything you have to say”
“Come now….I’ve been waiting for you”
So much in just two words.
I was once again reminded of the outrageous love of my Heavenly Father
I was once again reminded of the fact that He waits for me to come and sit with Him
I was once again reminded of the fact that He loves me to much to leave me like I am – knowing I can be so much more.
And I paused and let the weight of those words
wrap around me like a warm blanket
weighted and comfortable
hemming me in
and keeping me safe.
In the whirlwind of what has been this week
I am so grateful
that I can come
and am encouraged to come
and sit
and share
and be comforted
and loved
and made to feel still and safe.
Even in the midst of the wildest whirlwind I find myself in
There is ALWAYS a place of rest.

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
Isaiah 26:23

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
