A Mind to Work
Nehemiah was leading the people in the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem.
They met much opposition from those around them.
And yet, the wall got built and in 52 days.
Nehemiah explains it this way: “for the people had a mind to work.”
What does that mean?
Mind= leb = inner man, mind, will, heart, understanding.
They had intent in the inner man, their will, their heart and their understanding.
They had intent to work together corporately and in unity.
They had intent to get the work the Lord had called them to, completed.
Not just completed but completed well and completed in a timely manner.
What work has the Lord called you to?
What work has the Lord called us to that requires corporate unity and “a mind to work”?
That work will get completed well and in a timely manner if we find that “mind” within us to work well, to work in unity, and to work in a focused way.
