Trips and Trust

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Psalms 20:7

Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.
Psalm 25: 4-5

Starting our 11th day home since we were cruising
How time flies!
It was a glorious time
that we are so grateful that we had.
But since coming home
and working to get back into a schedule
and a groove……..
more and more as I dream about our cruise days,
the thought comes to me;
how fleeting time is
and how fleeting the things we use our time for.

Was our cruise awesome? YES!
Will we go again? YES!

But the fleeting time
and passing pleasure of things like this
reminds me of the importance of being clear
on what is most important.
And knowing what I trust in, above all things.

Today’s verse talks about trust.
“Some trust in chariots
Some trust in horses……”
In today’s world we may rephrase it:
“Some trust in their work
Some trust in their finances
Some trust in themselves…..”

It is easy enough to put our trust in the wrong things
and ultimately the wrong people.
What are you trusting in today?
How is that working for you?
Do you feel confident?
And settled?
And worry free?

The uncertainty of our world and our circumstances
require that we trust in something or someone.
In the past I have found myself trusting in many things;
then trying to be self sufficient
but only finding that to lead to more pressure,
worrying and more and more uncertainty.

The Word of God declares:
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

That to me has been a great revelation.
I don’t have to trust in things that are fleeting
I don’t have to trust in people who will come and go
I don’t have to be self sufficient so that my success depends on how bad a hair day i’m having
I can trust in the One
the Beginning and the End (the Alpha and the Omega)

the One who created me and has great and wonderful plans for me
the One who loves me with an Everlasting love
The Lord my God.
And because I set my trust in Him
I seek Him regularly
For guidance and direction.
Daily my prayer is:
Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are
the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.

What are you trusting in today?
Things that are fleeting?
People who come and go?
Or have you placed that pressure on your very own shoulders?
Are your horses and chariots enough?
Or do you need more?
I’m here to share with you today
That Jesus is the answer.
He is waiting, even now, for you
The Word says:
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9

But it doesn’t stop there.
It’s not just eternal insurance…….
It impacts your life right now
this very moment.
It is the beginning of a most wonderful
relationship with the Lord
One of guidance and direction,
one in which you can lay down
all things before Him;
that He will be your
horses and chariots.
Is the time before you moving quickly
Can you see that things are more and more fleeting
as each day goes by
Do you know where to turn
for stability
and real trust?
I invite you today
to meet Jesus.
Time will still be fleeting
and people will come and go
but in Jesus
all things are made whole.
