Praising God in the Midst

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. Acts 16:25-26

Paul cast out a spirit of divination from a young girl in the name of Jesus, granting her freedom.  When her masters realized the profit they would lose because of this, they began to make accusations against Paul and Silas.
Even though Paul and Silas were actively engaged in the Lord’s work, they were put in stocks, in jail, after being beaten with rods.
A few things we can glean from today’s verses:
1) adversity will come, even when you are in the midst of the Lord’s work;
2) you need to be able to lift up your voice and pray to the Lord and praise Him in the midst of your darkest hours;
3) others will be watching and listening for your response when you find yourself in the midst;
4) prayer and praise will move the earth;
5) prayer and praise will open doors;
6) prayer and praise will not only loose your chains, it will loose the chains of those around you!
Are you in the midst today?
Do you find yourself in the midnight hour?
You must go to prayer and began to praise the Lord!
Those around you will see the genuineness of your relationship with the Lord.
The earth will move, doors will open and your chains and the chains of those around you will be loosed!
