What do you see?

Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:16-17

What I find so reassuring about this passage, is not so much that the angelic army was present, but that the Lord allowed the servant, even in his fearfulness, to see that the army was present.
We are human.
Sometimes we become overwhelmed by our circumstances and we feel fearful of the situations we find ourselves in.
Our God is a faithful and gracious God and He sends angelic armies to protect us and to fight on our behalf.
The problem is that sometimes we are so stuck in our fear, that we can’t see the army that is there to go before us.
Elisha had the vision to see in the spiritual realm.
But his servant did not.
But when Elisha asked of the Lord that his eyes would be opened, they were!
The Lord’s faithfulness not only provides the protection but His faithfulness extends to opening our spiritual eyes to allow us to see the protection!
Are you in the midst today?
Are you struck with fear?
Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see the protection He has for you in the spiritual realm.
He is a faithful and gracious God and will meet every need we have!
