Faithful God!

This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”
Lamentations 3:21-24

When the day is dark and gray and the rain falls and the wind blows.
When you open your eyes and wonder how you will get both feet on the ground.
When you look around and wonder how you will take another step.
When you see that the “to do” list is longer than the day.
When the weariness inside pushes through to the outside.
We all find ourselves in this place at some time.
What do we do when this is the case?
The writer of Lamentations could relate, but when faced with the realities of his life, he choose to “recall to my mind”.
He choose to remember.
He choose to move his thoughts from the facts of his circumstances to the hope that he had in the Lord.
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed.”
Why are we not consumed?
“Because His compassions fail not.”
How often can we access these compassions?
“They are new every morning.”
“Great is your faithfulness” we cry out to the Lord!
